Several years ago, the Lord blessed the Bridge Ministry with the opportunity and funds to purchase our large truck “The Beast” which carries our groceries and other supplies to the Bridge weekly. Because of the constant use of the truck, holes have developed in the roof and floor which allow water to leak in on the Bridge supplies every time it rains. The estimated repair costs are around $2,500.00 and needs immediate attention. If you would like to donate towards the cost of the repairs, please contact us at ofice@bridgeministry.org or at P.O. Box 463, Goodlettsville, TN 37070.

Dan has been serving with the Bridge Ministry since December 2010 and is an important part of the weekly operations of the Bridge Ministry. As a young man Dan became a drug addict and dealer, and was frequently robbed by corrupt law officers. When he was only 18, he opened fire, shooting an officer and permanently paralyzing him. Dan was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison, and after seven years began receiving letters from the wife of the officer he had shot. The officer requested to meet Dan and Dan refused him causing the officer to obtain a court order forcing Dan to see him. As Dan waited, the door open and the officer’s two children ran in wrapping their arms around the man they called “Uncle Dan”. The officer and his wife had raised their family to love Dan although he almost took the officer’s life eight years earlier. That day, the cop turned pastor and his family sat down and shared the love of Jesus with Dan. Not long after the meeting, the cop turned himself in for his previous crimes and served two and a half years in prison. The cop and his family worked tirelessly to see Dan freed, and after almost fifteen years, at the request of the cop, Dan was released. Shortly after getting out of prison, Dan went into full time ministry and has spent the last 16 years in Arizona reaching out to those who have been caught up in the lifestyle that God so miraculously delivered him from. In the last year Dan felt the call to move to Nashville and now serves with The Bridge Ministry. Dan’s testimony is just one of the countless others that reminds us of God’s unfailing love. There is no situation so far gone or sin too great that God cannot turn it around for His glory.
Dear Faith Family,
I can hardly believe that 2011 is coming to a close. How can the founder of a ministry gracefully tell you that God has taken us on the most miraculous journey yet? Perhaps that is best expressed by first, and always, simply giving thanks to God for not only answering our every prayer, for meeting our every need, and then amazingly leading us into a harvest beyond our wildest dreams. Before our year barely began, it was once again moving faster than our infinite dreams could conceive. By early Fall, The Bridge Ministry was already feeding more of Nashville’s homeless and poor, than our unbelievable Christmas crowd of last year. Yet week after week, God has amazingly supplied our needs, raised up new leadership, sent us multiple sets of church groups, Sunday school classes, pastors, and financial partners. It is difficult to write you just that message, without weeping tears of joy for the faces we see smiling back at us every week. The spiritual, physical, marital, needs that are met among those we are called to minister to…all because of Gods amazing grace. At the same time, we rejoice in the stories from just our volunteers being blessed, and their lives being changed because they too answered the call. For nearly eight years God has raised us up for this very moment, for these economically difficult times, to be His lighthouse and the very bridge that can lead those He places in our paths to his Son, Jesus. Rejoice with us, pray for us, help us when you can, but more than ever we ask you to simply “grab on” and let’s see where God will lead us next. The fields remain ripe unto harvest.
“Happy are those who dream dreams and are willing to pay the price to make them come true.”
