"Fighting Child Hunger One Spike At A Time"
We created the Spike Hunger Challenge and partnered with The Bridge to help feed children dealing with hunger. When we found out there are over 4,000 children going to bed hungry at night (especially on the weekends) in our community, we had to be a part of the solution. The Bridge currently feeds 3,700 children each week through the Bridge to Kids program and together we are going to change that number! We can't leave any child out! It only takes $1 a day or $365 a year to add a child to the program and that's when we decided to help one spike at a time. We are Lipscomb Bisons...we are mighty and we are determined! We are a team who has decided to take our passion for volleyball and use it to serve the less fortunate. At Lipscomb, we are big into service and leaving a legacy. The Spike Hunger Challenge will be a way for us to serve hungry children and pass the baton to those who come behind us. They too can carry on the tradition of serving. Our goal is to get friends, family, and businesses to sponsor us for each spike (kill) from one game, specific games, or for the entire season. We are also going to encourage other teams to join us in the Spike Hunger Challenge. We need all the help we can get because the children deserve all the help we can give. - LUV
